About this role

As the world's leading cruise line, Princess Cruises is seeking a Senior Assistant Purser who is fluent in Japanese to join our Guest Services team. This dual-capacity leadership role supports either Guest Services or Crew Office operations, depending on the ship's operational requirements, and is critical to delivering exceptional service experiences for guests and ensuring the well-being of our onboard teammates.

In this role, you will inspire and lead a team of Guest Services professionals, fostering a culture of empathy, responsiveness, and excellence. You will oversee the Guest Services Desk, CrewCall Chat, and Telephone Center, ensuring smooth and efficient operations while taking ownership of resolving guest complaints with professionalism and urgency.

You will collaborate with onboard departments to address complex issues and maintain high levels of guest satisfaction, while promoting MedallionClass technology to enhance guest interactions. Your leadership will drive service excellence, operational efficiency, and team development, all while upholding Princess Cruises' commitment to safety, inclusivity, and innovation.

Requirements

  • Fluency in Japanese (spoken and written) is required
  • Previous experience in guest services, hospitality, or cruise ship operations
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Proven ability to resolve guest complaints with professionalism and urgency
  • Familiarity with financial transactions and folio management
  • Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental standards (HESS) in a maritime setting
  • Ability to work in a multicultural team environment

Responsibilities

  • Inspire and lead a team of Guest Services professionals, fostering a culture of empathy, responsiveness, and excellence
  • Oversee the Guest Services Desk, CrewCall Chat, and Telephone Center, ensuring smooth, efficient, and professional operations
  • Take ownership of resolving guest complaints and concerns with professionalism and urgency
  • Promote and integrate MedallionClass technology to enhance guest interactions and streamline service delivery
  • Maintain accuracy in guest folio management, onboard payments, and financial transactions
  • Ensure compliance with HESS policies, public health standards, and safety regulations
  • Support emergency procedures and maintain readiness for audit and inspection requirements
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to ensure consistent delivery of personalized and frictionless guest experiences
