About this role
The Duty Manager Line Maintenance is fully qualified under the GCAA and maintains certification privileges to certify aircraft as fit for service. This role deputizes for the Senior Manager Aircraft Maintenance (L&L) in their absence. Direct communication occurs with the MCC controller or Duty Manager on incoming defects to assign actions to engineers.
Maintains close communication with on-site Field Support Engineers for accurate feedback on new and existing defects. Organizes, controls, and coordinates within the line maintenance shift. Prepares accurate shift allocations with the Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor, nominating certified personnel for aircraft types and highlighting key tasks.
Ensures cleanliness of technical facilities including GSE and tool store areas. Promotes a safe and secure working environment, implementing SMS systems and conducting Risk Assessments for changes. Actively manages incidents to minimize employee injury and loss, ensuring proper reporting per airworthiness regulations.
Monitors training currency of supervised employees to prevent overdue status. Identifies and nominates staff for technical and personal development. Supports ongoing development of Etihad’s Safety Management System through time, training, resources, and encouragement.
Requirements
- High School leaving Certificate or Education to university/college degree
- Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineering License convertible to GCAA with minimum 2 Etihad aircraft types (level 3)
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance of which 3 years in a supervisory role
- Experience working in line maintenance in a busy Hub Operation environment
- Has attended the Mandatory Induction Training within 6 months of joining the company
Responsibilities
- Certifies own work and work of others after verifying tasks performed in accordance with approved maintenance data
- Organizes, controls and coordinates within the line maintenance shift
- Ensures adequate staffing levels are maintained to support the daily operating schedule
- Prepares and issues accurate shift allocation representing the daily operating schedule
- Communicates directly with the MCC controller on incoming defects to provide action items
- Ensures a safe and secure working environment and promotes safety awareness
- Actively manages incidents to minimize injury and loss, ensuring correct reporting
- Monitors training currency of employees under supervision to prevent overdue
