As a key member of the Dispatch team, the Flight Dispatcher reports to the Manager, Dispatch, creating operational flight plans and coordinating with Air Traffic Control, Pilots, Flight Attendants, and Maintenance to ensure compliance with company policies. This permanent shift work position is based at North Bay, ON facilities.
Flight Dispatchers continuously monitor weather conditions, provide route and weather analysis to flight and ground crew, and handle flight following with detailed plans. They exercise joint responsibility with the Pilot in Command for operational control and safety of flights, initiating emergency response procedures as needed. They also advise personnel on operational concerns like delays, cancellations, payload restrictions, and ground support.

Requirements
- Must meet all requirements as listed by Transport Canada
- Completion of Transport Canada Dispatch Exams (FDMET and FDOPS), or complete within 4 months of hire
- Restricted Radio Operators Licence
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven time management skills and ability to multitask
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to identify solutions
- Complete tasks accurately and efficiently with high attention to detail
- Able to work a flexible schedule
Responsibilities
- Create operational flight plans and coordinate with Air Traffic Control, Pilots, Flight Attendants, and Maintenance
- Continuously monitor and assess weather conditions
- Provide route and weather analysis to flight and ground crew
- Conduct flight following and provide flight plans
- Exercise joint responsibility with the Pilot in Command for operational control and safety of flights
- Initiate emergency response procedures as outlined in company manuals
- Advise personnel of operational concerns including flight delays, cancellations, payload restrictions, equipment serviceability, and ground support
