The Shift Officer, Aircraft Turnaround Coordinator oversees end-to-end freighter aircraft turnaround operations for safe, compliant, on-time departures. This role applies discipline, precision, and smart thinking to create stability and efficiency.

During shifts, coordinate ground handling, cargo build-up/breakdown, ULD movements, and aircraft servicing to meet OTP targets. Ensure compliance with load control instructions, weight & balance, and approved load plans. Monitor ramp safety, GSE usage, and readiness for departure.

Act as operational lead, managing manpower, equipment, and coordination with flight crew, OCC, load control, warehouse, maintenance, customs, and security. Resolve bottlenecks, communicate delays, and handle irregular operations (IROPs). Promote safety culture and report hazards immediately.

Serve as primary point of contact for stakeholders during assigned shifts. Maintain shift logs, verify flight files, load sheets, NOTOCs, and submit reports. Contribute to long-term impact in a fast-paced airport environment.

Requirements

  • Strong decision-making skills in fast-paced airport environments
  • Operational awareness to manage irregular operations (IROPs)
  • Knowledge of ICAO, IATA standards, and regulatory compliance
  • Familiarity with ramp safety procedures and Ground Support Equipment (GSE)
  • Experience overseeing Dangerous Goods (DG) handling per IATA DGR
  • Ability to coordinate with flight crew, OCC, load control, and ground handling teams
  • Proficiency in preparing flight files, load sheets, NOTOCs, and cargo documentation

Responsibilities

  • Oversee freighter aircraft turnaround activities including arrival, unloading, loading, and departure
  • Coordinate aircraft parking bay allocation, ground handling activities, cargo build-up/breakdown, and ULD movements
  • Ensure compliance with load control instructions, weight & balance requirements, and approved load plans
  • Monitor aircraft servicing activities to meet on-time performance (OTP) targets
  • Ensure operations comply with ICAO, IATA, GCAA/CAA, airport authority regulations, and company SOPs
  • Manage manpower deployment, equipment allocation, and GSE utilization during assigned shifts
  • Serve as primary operational point of contact for freighter aircraft and liaise with stakeholders
  • Act as first responder during operational incidents, emergencies, or irregular operations (IROPs)
