Boeing Global Services unites expertise from commercial, defence and space customers to deliver agile engineering and modification solutions. The company seeks an Experienced Part 21 Electrical / Avionics Engineer to support certification of large aircraft modifications for global airline partners.
The role demonstrates compliance with regulatory and customer requirements using procedures defined in the Design Organization Handbook. Work centres on electrical and avionics equipment changes for large aircraft modification programmes.
Engineers report to the Electrical / Avionics Engineering Manager and collaborate with a global team across multiple time zones. The position is based in the Design Office in Frimley, UK, with occasional national and international travel.
Boeing will support development of existing skills and encourage progress toward individual career goals within a rapidly expanding modifications team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree within Electrical / Avionics or Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering
- Current or recent employment within the aerospace industry working with an EASA Part 21J Design Organization (or equivalent) is essential
- Previous experience as an EASA Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) is advantageous
Responsibilities
- Report to the Electrical / Avionics Engineering Manager and work with the global engineering services team to identify requirements and solutions for active and upcoming projects
- Lead and contribute to design activities ensuring compliance with design requirements and addressing certification and integration issues for electrical/avionics systems
- Lead certification activities including on-wing test witnessing to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Compile and check engineering documentation including wiring diagrams, wire routing installation drawings, harness fabrication drawings and Service Bulletins
- Compile and check certification documents such as electrical load analysis, test plans, compliance statements and system safety documents
- Act as Boeing representative during customer meetings including ITCM, PDR, CDR and FAI and provide on-site support during embodiment
