About this role

At Hawaiian Airlines, flight attendants ensure the safety of guests aboard aircraft by being physically and psychologically capable of performing safety procedures and assisting in emergencies. They work in a fast-paced environment, handling situations attentively and pleasantly with all personalities. Secondarily, they deliver consistent customer service including food and beverage while providing an unsurpassed Aloha experience. This is a union represented position.

Flight attendants attend preflight briefings to review weather, routes, emergencies, and services, then prepare the cabin for boarding. They greet guests warmly, assist with seating and luggage, and respond to questions throughout the flight. Safety demonstrations cover seat belts, oxygen masks, and life jackets, ensuring compliance with regulations.

During flights, they provide food and beverage service per procedures, collect payments, and maintain a seamless guest experience. In emergencies, they direct evacuations, administer first aid, and handle equipment like oxygen bottles and fire extinguishers. Post-flight, they secure the cabin and assist deplaning.

Requirements

  • Physically and psychologically capable of performing safety procedures and assisting in emergencies
  • Able to handle fast-paced environment and deal with all types of personalities attentively and pleasantly
  • Qualified in Italian language
  • Meet physical demands of flying at high altitudes and varied schedules including evenings, weekends, holidays
  • Obtain and maintain authorization for unescorted access to aircraft and SIDA areas
  • Current knowledge of FAA and airline emergency procedures and regulations
  • Able to access, handle, and operate oxygen bottles, fire extinguishers, and other emergency equipment

Responsibilities

  • Attend preflight briefings to review flight details, emergency procedures, and onboard services; prepare aircraft cabin for boarding
  • Greet guests warmly, direct to seats, assist with carry-on luggage, and provide courteous service throughout the flight
  • Demonstrate safety equipment including seat belts, oxygen masks, and life jackets; monitor and enforce compliance
  • Direct guests during emergency procedures like evacuations, administer first aid, and report incidents
  • Provide food and beverage service according to procedures; collect and reconcile payments for purchases
  • Prepare cabin and guests for landing; ensure security and assist with deplaning
  • Complete annual FAA-approved re-certification and maintain knowledge of emergency procedures
  • Collaborate with crew to deliver aloha experience, escalate issues, and work varied schedules
