At Hawaiian Airlines, flight attendants ensure the safety of guests aboard aircraft by being physically and psychologically capable of performing safety procedures and assisting in emergencies. They work in a fast-paced environment, handling situations and dealing with all types of personalities attentively and pleasantly. Secondarily, they provide customer service including food and beverage during flights with an unsurpassed Aloha experience.
Flight attendants attend preflight briefings to review weather, routes, and emergency procedures, then prepare the cabin for boarding. They greet guests warmly, assist with seating and luggage, and conduct safety demonstrations on equipment like seat belts and oxygen masks. Throughout the flight, they deliver consistent service and monitor compliance with safety regulations.
In emergencies, they direct evacuations, administer first aid, and operate equipment like fire extinguishers amid smoke or fire. Post-flight, they secure the cabin for landing and assist deplaning while completing incident reports. They collaborate with crew to deliver a seamless Aloha experience to guests.
Join the Hawaiian Airlines ‘ohana, a team dedicated to welcoming guests with Hawaiian hospitality and serving kama‘āina and communities. This union-represented position involves annual FAA re-certification and maintaining access to aircraft and SIDA areas. Work varied schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays at West Coast bases.
Requirements
- Physically and psychologically capable of performing safety procedures and assisting in emergencies
- Able to handle fast-paced environment and deal with all types of personalities attentively and pleasantly
- Korean Language Qualified
- Meet physical demands of high altitudes and varied schedules including evenings, weekends, holidays
- Obtain and maintain unescorted access authorization to aircraft and SIDA areas
- Assist ill passengers, evacuate in smoke or fire, operate oxygen bottles and fire extinguishers
- Work effectively with colleagues for prompt responses to guest needs
Responsibilities
- Attend preflight briefings to review flight details, weather, emergency procedures, and prepare aircraft cabin
- Greet guests warmly, direct to seats, assist with carry-on luggage, and respond to flight-related questions
- Demonstrate safety equipment use and monitor guest compliance with regulations
- Direct guests during emergency procedures including evacuations, administer first aid, and complete incident reports
- Provide food and beverage service, collect payments for onboard purchases
- Prepare guests and cabin for landing, ensure security, and assist deplaning
- Complete annual FAA-approved re-certification and maintain emergency procedure knowledge
- Collaborate with crew to deliver Aloha experience and handle guest inquiries or complaints
