About this role

The Senior Electrical / Avionics Integration Engineer supports airworthiness and avionics integration across airborne platforms. Platforms include rotary-wing, fixed-wing, ISR, and specialized mission aircraft. This position offers technical assessment and risk evaluation for modifications and instrumentation integration.

The engineer performs technical review and integration support for electrical and avionics modifications. Support extends to T2 engineering activities such as antenna relocation and instrumentation integration. Additional duties include developing engineering analyses and wiring diagrams for airworthiness impacts.

Work occurs in a fast-paced environment as part of a multi-disciplined engineering team. Coordination spans structures, systems safety, propulsion, and configuration management disciplines. The role serves as a technical interface with Government Chief Engineers and platform contractors.

The position supports airworthiness assessments, technical review boards, and flight release discussions. Engineering judgment is provided for integration-level activities within airworthiness boundaries. Other duties are performed as required to meet program needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Avionics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • Master's degree preferred but not required
  • Combination of formal education, advanced technical training, and equivalent experience may be considered
  • Perform effectively both independently and as part of a multi-disciplined engineering team in a fast-paced environment
  • Provide engineering judgment and technical leadership for integration-level activities within defined airworthiness boundaries

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical review and integration support for electrical and avionics modifications across multiple aircraft platforms
  • Support T2 engineering activities including antenna relocation, instrumentation integration, wiring updates, and mission equipment integration
  • Develop and review engineering analyses, interface definitions, electrical load assessments, and wiring diagrams for airworthiness impacts
  • Conduct engineering analysis associated with avionics integration, aircraft electrical systems, EMI/EMC considerations, and interface compatibility
  • Develop or modify CAD drawings, wiring schematics, installation concepts, and integration documentation
  • Support airworthiness assessments, technical review boards, flight release discussions, and systems safety activities
  • Coordinate integration impacts across structures, systems safety, propulsion, flight controls, and configuration management
  • Prepare technical assessment memorandums, risk summaries, engineering recommendations, and customer briefings
