About this role

Perform Instructional (IP) and Test flights to measure and demonstrate aircraft proficiency upon completion of aircraft maintenance or modification on the MH-60R helicopter. Provide pilot training and proficiency as an Instructor Pilot. This role ensures airworthiness and operational readiness of the fleet.

Pilot and navigate the MH-60R helicopter on instructional and functional check flights. Assist RSNF designated FCF Pilots with all portions of maintenance functional check flights including preflight briefing, flight checks, and documentation. Coordinate with maintenance contractors for in-flight troubleshooting and verification of repairs.

Guide and assist in managing an approved MH-60R Flight Operations Program in compliance with Navy flight manuals and directives. Work alongside RSNF personnel and maintenance contractors in a multinational defense environment. Maintain high standards of safety and professionalism at all times.

Requirements

  • Designation as a Helicopter Aircraft Commander (HAC).
  • Past designation as an MH-60R Instructor Pilot (IP) and Functional Check Flight (FCF) Pilot.
  • Minimum of 550 total flight hours, including 50 hours as HAC in the MH-60R and 100 hours of MH-60R FCF/Maintenance test.
  • Ability to perform all duties independently.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoW Secret Clearance (US Citizenship required).
  • Must pass an aeronautical/flight physical.

Responsibilities

  • Pilot and navigate the MH-60R helicopter on instructional and test flights.
  • Provide pilot training and proficiency as an Instructor Pilot (IP).
  • Assist RSNF designated FCF Pilots with all portions of maintenance functional check flights, including preflight briefing, flight checks, post flight, and required documentation.
  • Coordinate with maintenance contractors for in-flight troubleshooting, discrepancy resolution, and verification of maintenance actions through ground and flight checks.
  • Guide and assist in managing an approved MH-60R Flight Operations Program in compliance with Navy flight manuals, instructions, directives, SOPs, and local directives.
  • Conduct test flights to measure and demonstrate aircraft proficiency upon completion of aircraft maintenance or modification.
