About this role
Boeing Commercial Aviation Services Europe Limited is seeking an Experienced Part 21 Electrical / Avionics Engineer to join its EASA Modifications team. The role supports certification of large aircraft modifications for global airline partners and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and the company Design Organization Handbook.
The engineer will work from the Design Office in Frimley, UK, collaborating across multiple time zones with the global engineering services team. Responsibilities include identifying project requirements, leading design and certification activities, and providing on-site support during embodiment phases.
Daily work involves compiling and checking engineering documentation such as wiring diagrams, wire routing drawings, service bulletins, and instructions for continued airworthiness. The position also requires preparing certification documents including electrical load analyses, test plans, compliance statements, and system safety assessments.
This role offers the opportunity to act as Boeing representative at customer meetings including ITCM, PDR, CDR, and FAI. Occasional national and international travel is required to support teammates, customers, and subcontractors while developing skills within a rapidly expanding modifications organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree within Electrical / Avionics or Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering
- Current or recent employment within the aerospace industry working with an EASA Part 21J Design Organization (or equivalent) is essential
- Previous experience as an EASA Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) is advantageous
Responsibilities
- Report to the Electrical / Avionics Engineering Manager and work with the global engineering services team to identify requirements and solutions for active and upcoming projects
- Lead and contribute to design activities ensuring compliance with design requirements and addressing certification and integration issues for electrical and avionics systems
- Lead certification activities to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements, including on-wing test witnessing
- Compile and check engineering documentation including wiring diagrams, wire routing installation drawings, harness fabrication drawings, and service bulletins
- Prepare aircraft and component manual ICA supplements including wiring diagram manuals, system schematic manuals, and EWIS assessments
- Compile and check certification documents such as electrical load analyses, test plans, compliance statements, system safety documents, and certification programmes
- Act as Boeing representative during customer meetings including ITCM, PDR, CDR, and FAI and provide on-site support during project embodiment
