Walmart’s Aviation team transports associates across the globe. Aviation professionals focus on safe, reliable, efficient, and flexible travel experiences. The role models compliance with company policies while supporting the mission, values, and ethics standards.
Work closely with scheduling, maintenance, crew, and aviation leadership to plan trips, including aircraft selection, airport selection, lodging, transportation, weight and balance, fuel loads, and pricing. Arrange ground handling services, airport slots, and fueling plans per company policies. Prepare international and domestic flight packages with operational plans, weather briefings, charts, NOTAMs, and performance data.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of aviation laws, regulations, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliant operations. Conduct operational risk analyses by monitoring weather, crew fatigue, airport complexity, and equipment needs. Comply with local, state, and federal aviation regulations while assessing flight hazards early.
Handle irregular operations, coordinate changes to flight plans, and provide emergency response support. Exercise authority over initiating, conducting, or terminating flights during after-hours coverage. Review daily changes to ensure safe missions and quality customer experiences in dynamic environments.
Make decisions on equipment, crews, and airports based on analysis, escalating high-priority changes. Brief flight crews on anticipated or actual changes. Bring a positive mindset, problem-solving attitude, and expertise in domestic and international operations.
Requirements
- Positive mindset and a problem solver’s attitude
- 3+ years' experience as a licensed flight dispatcher or professional pilot with expertise in domestic and international operations
- Familiarity with scheduling software platforms, flight planning tools, and flight tracking software
- Experience interfacing with Air Traffic Command Centers and third-party International Flight Planning Services
- Up-to-date knowledge of applicable aviation-related laws, regulations, company standard operating procedures, and industry best practices
- Ability to conduct operational risk analyses including weather monitoring, crew fatigue assessment, and regulatory compliance
Responsibilities

- Prepare international and domestic flight packages including operational flight plans, weather briefings, charts, NOTAMs, performance data, ETOPS, and other relevant documentation
- Identify and mitigate potential flight hazards as far in advance as possible
- Conduct operational risk analyses by monitoring weather, crew fatigue, airport complexity, terrain, and equipment needs
- Handle changes to flight plans by coordinating irregular operations and provide emergency response support
- Review and evaluate daily operational changes to ensure flight crew and aircraft safely complete missions
