Air Transat is looking for Flight Dispatchers to join its dynamic team within the Flight Operations department. Flight Dispatchers ensure safety and operational control in a Type A system, planning flights safely and cost-effectively. You monitor flights with the captain until engines shut down, analyze weather, amend plans, and execute emergency procedures. Requirements

  • High school diploma (college or university education is an asset)
  • Successful completion of FD-OPS and FD-MET exams
  • Holding a restricted radio operator certificate
  • Holding a valid passport up to 6 months after the predicted date of hiring
  • Obtention of a restricted area identification card within three months following the date of hire
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is essential
  • Availability for shift work including evenings, nights and weekends
  • Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and operational control of flights within a Type A operating system
  • Plan flights under responsibility in a safe and cost-effective manner
  • Monitor flights jointly with the captain until the engines are completely shut down
  • Analyze and track weather conditions
  • Amend flight plans when required
  • Execute emergency procedures when necessary
