Flight Dispatchers ensure safety and operational control in a Type A system, planning flights safely and cost-effectively. Requirements
- High school diploma (college or university education is an asset)
- Successful completion of FD-OPS and FD-MET exams
- Holding a restricted radio operator certificate
- Holding a valid passport up to 6 months after the predicted date of hiring
- Obtention of a restricted area identification card within three months following the date of hire
- Bilingualism (French and English) is essential
- Availability for shift work including evenings, nights and weekends
- Excellent communication skills
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and operational control of flights within a Type A operating system
- Plan flights under responsibility in a safe and cost-effective manner
- Monitor flights jointly with the captain until the engines are completely shut down
- Analyze and track weather conditions
- Amend flight plans when required
- Execute emergency procedures when necessary
