Ramp Agents at Southwest work outside to guide planes, move bags and cargo, and help with de-icing during cold weather. This busy, hands-on role is at the heart of every successful departure, offering a chance to learn the aviation industry while keeping operations running smoothly.

Each day involves working together with a team to ensure flights leave on time. You’ll handle baggage and cargo, operate ground equipment, and assist with aircraft marshaling in all weather conditions. Shifts may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

Currently a resident of the State of Oklahoma.
U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S.
Must not have been interviewed and not selected for the Ramp Agent position at TUL within the last 12 months.
Ability to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 70 pounds) repeatedly.
Valid driver’s license and ability to operate ground support equipment.

Responsibilities

Guide planes into and out of gates using hand signals and marshaling wands.
Move bags, cargo, and freight between aircraft and terminal using ground support equipment.
Assist with de-icing aircraft during cold weather conditions.
Perform aircraft pushback and towing operations as needed.
Help keep the operation running smoothly by working quickly and safely as a team.
Complete 4-6 weeks of training covering classroom and on-the-job instruction.
Work 6.5-hour shifts over 5 days with potential for mandatory overtime.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures.
