About this role
For over 25 years, Noblis has provided specialized engineering, acquisition, and program management services to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). We seek passionate Air Traffic Controllers / ATC Specialists to support Air Traffic Systems and Surveillance Services directorates within the Program Management Organization (PMO). Employees provide senior level air traffic control system expertise to assist FAA coordination with air traffic requirements and operations personnel.
Daily work involves providing expert analysis for site implementation and transition planning of National and Regional projects. Coordinate support for technical interchange meetings, program reviews, and workgroup activities for En Route and Oceanic program offices. Assist in air traffic requirements development, verification, and tracking for new tools and systems.
Team members interface with user teams, system engineers, and FAA program personnel. Analyze system specifications to ensure air traffic operational concerns are addressed. Identify potential inconsistencies and usability issues related to ATC system changes.
Opportunities include presenting recommendations for short and long-term program planning. Demonstrate subject matter expertise to business case and investment teams. Contribute to advancing the National Airspace System, integrating unmanned aircraft systems and commercial space ventures for the safest aerospace system worldwide.
Requirements
- Successfully pass an FAA background investigation and receive a successful final suitability determination
- Air traffic control technical and operational work experience as a domestic or oceanic air traffic controller in an En Route & Oceanic or Terminal operational environment
- Relevant training and/or certifications as an Air Traffic Controller
- Knowledge of Air Traffic Control, Navigation, Flight Information, and Automation systems such as ERAM, TAMR, STARS, ASDE-X, ADS-B, ASOS, TFMS, TFDM, and TBFM
- Subject matter expertise in air traffic control procedures, equipment, facilities, terminology, and technology
- Ability to communicate complex knowledge of air traffic control to diverse audiences
Responsibilities
- Provide expert analysis to support development of site implementation and transition planning for National and Regional projects
- Identify, analyze, coordinate, resolve, and report resolution of implementation issues from Capital Investment Plan projects
- Coordinate support for technical interchange meetings and various program reviews
- Coordinate workgroup activities for En Route and Oceanic program offices and assist in air traffic requirements development
- Assist with requirements verification and tracking for new En Route, Oceanic, and Terminal Air Traffic Control tools and systems
- Assist with identifying potential inconsistencies and usability issues related to ATC system changes
- Analyze system and subsystem specifications to ensure air traffic operational concerns are addressed
- Present recommendations and solutions related to short and long-term program planning requirements
