Join LS Technologies, a Tetra Tech company, seeking a part-time (50% Level of Effort) Terminal Air Traffic Control (ATC) Specialist to support the Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS) adaptation. The specialist will assist with scenario development, test procedure creation, dry runs, test execution, and reporting. This role focuses on enhancing aviation safety through precise testing and analysis.

Support the adaptation of STARS and develop/refine Terminal Publication of Guidance (TPoG) scenarios. Assist in creating and executing test procedures, including dry runs for accuracy. Execute test plans while documenting findings for comprehensive reporting.

Work with the TPoG application to process National Weather Processor (NWP) and Common Support Services for Weather (CSS-Wx) precipitation data. Analyze output from multiple dedicated weather sensors to bolster testing efforts. Coordinate with technical teams to refine scenarios and procedures.

Participate in test conduct, providing detailed documentation of results. Generate test reports summarizing findings and recommendations. Contribute to LS Technologies' mission of enhancing the nation's critical infrastructure for Federal Government agencies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6-10 years of experience in Terminal Air Traffic Control (ATC)
  • Hands-on experience with STARS adaptation and testing
  • Knowledge of TPoG applications and weather data processing
  • Familiarity with National Weather Processor (NWP) and Common Support Services for Weather (CSS-Wx) precipitation output
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop and execute test procedures
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
