About this role

Stratolaunch is a technology accelerator engineering operationally realistic testing at Mach 5+. Our air-launched Talon testbeds provide reusable, cost-effective hypersonic access and critical flight data for system validation. We seek an Avionics Engineering Technician I, II, or Senior to support Talon-A vehicle electrical and avionics systems.

You will create shop definition including drawings, wiring diagrams, and work instructions for installing or modifying subsystems. Act as liaison to the shop for installation and troubleshooting existing aircraft subsystems. Evaluate broad technical data with an aerospace development background in systems integration.

Support flight operations and shop floor by troubleshooting electrical, avionics ground test, and documentation issues. Provide real-time engineering support and regular communication to leads. Contribute to integrating complex aerospace systems while adapting to changing priorities.

Travel as needed to support the department and demonstrate honesty, responsibility, integrity. Gain hands-on involvement in hypersonic vehicle design, testing, and maintenance. Drive innovations advancing national security through customer collaborations.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of and experience with electrical engineering, avionics, experimental aircraft, or launch vehicle integration
  • Experience integrating launch vehicle or aircraft electrical power systems
  • Experience creating shop work instructions, including wiring diagrams and drawings
  • Direct hands-on experience with aircraft electrical system installation and best practices
  • Ability to communicate technical challenges and guidance to varied audiences
  • Ability to work on initiative and prioritize tasking to fit business goals
  • Experience in complex aerospace system development
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities

Responsibilities

  • Support flight operations as engineering liaison to troubleshoot electrical and avionics ground test issues
  • Design, manufacture, and operate electrical ground support equipment
  • Create drawings, wiring diagrams, and work instructions to install or modify electrical and avionics subsystems
  • Support the shop as engineering liaison to troubleshoot documentation issues and provide real-time shop floor support
  • Maintain regular and comprehensive communication to your lead
  • Contribute to the integration of complex aerospace systems
  • Travel as needed to support the department
