Aversan Inc. (www.aversan.com) is a trusted multi-service engineering and electronics manufacturing company delivering leading-edge safety-critical electronics and software systems to aerospace, defence, and space industries. We seek a qualified Senior Avionics Engineer to join the Avionics and Systems Engineering team. The team develops, integrates, and certifies innovative avionics and electrical solutions for platform upgrades or new developments.
Analyze project, production, and certification requirements to develop technical solutions for avionics and aircraft electrical systems. Develop system requirements, specifications, architecture, and interfaces with other aircraft systems. Manage requirements through a requirements management tool and provide technical guidance.
Support system integration by selecting components, ensuring interface compatibility, and drafting electrical diagrams. Coordinate with suppliers on displays, flight instruments, communication, navigation, sensors, and vehicle management systems. Operate in a hybrid arrangement based in Montreal, Quebec.
Prepare certification plans, qualification plans, test procedures, and conformity matrices. Analyze test results for functional and certification tests at component and aircraft levels. Support LRU testing, Systems Integration Laboratory, ground/flight testing, and first article installations.
Requirements
- Strong relevant experience in aerospace or equivalent working level experience
- Experience in aircraft avionic and electrical systems
- Integration experience on a commercial or military aircraft
- Knowledge of requirements management tool
- Knowledge of equipment qualification standards or civil aircraft and systems certification standards
Responsibilities
- Analyze project, production and certification requirements and develop technical solutions related to avionics and aircraft electrical systems
- Develop avionics system requirements and management, systems specifications, architecture and interfaces with other aircraft systems
- Support the integration of systems including the choice of components, the compatibility of interfaces and the drafting of electrical diagrams
- Manage requirements through a requirements management tool, provide technical guidance and impact assessment
- Prepare and update certification plans, qualification plans and conformity matrix
- Coordinate with avionics system suppliers in the development, integration and testing of displays, flight instruments, communication and navigation systems
- Prepare test plans and test procedures, analyze results and write qualification reports for functional and certification tests
- Support LRU/system testing, Systems Integration Laboratory (SIL) testing, aircraft ground and flight testing
