About this role
Responsible for the safe operation of a medium lift twin engine helicopter in single pilot day/night/NVG visual and instrument flight conditions. Performs flight duty in a 24-hour hospital-based operation and adheres to CAMTS guidelines. Full-time role offers 10K sign-on bonus with 12-hour shifts Wednesday–Tuesday.
Complies with all FAA Regulations (FAR's, 14 CFR), Angel One Transport General Aviation Operations Manual, Safety Manual, Training Manual and all other policies. Prepares VFR/IFR flight plans in accordance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and company manuals. Ensures aircraft is prepared for flight per Aircraft Operator's Manual.
Performs maintenance operational checks and enters discrepancies into aircraft log book. Files, activates, and closes flight plans while keeping maintenance and communications center informed. Ensures proper completion of flight logs, manifest records, and maintenance forms.
Maintains proficiency as Pilot-in-Command per FAR Part 135.293/299 and Single Pilot Instrument Flight Rules (SPIFR). Operates in safety-sensitive environment within Angel One Aviation department. Position supports critical hospital transport missions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Class 1 Medical Certification or Class 2 Medical Certification - FAA
- Commercial Helicopter with Instrument - FAA
- Associate Degree (recommended)
- Air Transport Pilot License - FAA (recommended)
- Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) Helicopter - FAA (recommended)
- Certified Flight Instrument Instructor (CFII) Helicopter - FAA (recommended)
Responsibilities

- Prepares VFR/IFR flight plans in accordance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, Arkansas Children's General Aviation Operations Manual, and policies
- Ensures aircraft is prepared for flight in accordance with the Aircraft Operator's Manual and General Aviation Operations Manual
- Performs maintenance operational checks and/or flights and enters mechanical discrepancies into aircraft log book
- Files, activates and closes flight plans
- Ensures proper completion of flight logs, manifest records and maintenance forms
- Maintains proficiency as Pilot-in-Command as per FAR Part 135.293/299 and Single Pilot Instrument Flight Rules (SPIFR)
