About this role

Jetconnect, a 100% owned subsidiary of Qantas, employs over 650 people across New Zealand to provide Cabin Crew, Pilots and aviation services. As a Duty Crew Controller, you’ll be at the centre of Qantas’ day-of-operations, playing a key role in managing disruption, recovering schedules, and supporting proactive operational planning.

You’ll coordinate and control crew activity in real time, including managing rosters, flight disruptions, and crew transport and accommodation for New Zealand-based Pilots and Cabin Crew. This fast-paced, high-impact role requires thriving under pressure, solving complex problems, and balancing multiple priorities in a constantly changing environment.

Based at Auckland Airport on a full-time, shift-based 24/7 rotating roster, you’ll own disruption recovery where your judgement, speed and teamwork matter. Join a world-class operation that delivers the Qantas spirit from the heart of New Zealand, representing our beautiful country.

Requirements

  • Rapidly assess multiple, competing operational issues and make sound decisions within tight timeframes
  • Proven problem-solving capability with a calm, collaborative approach through clear communication and effective negotiation
  • Experience implementing, reviewing, and adapting plans to minimise disruption and support schedule recovery
  • Solid understanding of airport operations and disruption management principles (highly desirable)
  • Confidence working autonomously, thinking logically and decisively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate operational impacts and decisions
  • Flexibility to work shift patterns across a 24/7 rotating roster
