About this role

Microflite Aviation seeks experienced B2 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers to join the engineering team. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, this hands-on role ensures safe, compliant, and efficient aircraft operations at Moorabbin Airport. It upholds highest standards of airworthiness, safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, diagnose technical issues, and certify work to meet airworthiness requirements. Maintain accurate records, assist in scheduling for optimal availability, and conduct inspections, modifications, and upgrades. Oversee projects for maintenance improvements and operational efficiencies.

Collaborate with pilots, operations, and engineering teams to support safe aircraft operations. Adhere to Workplace Health & Safety procedures and participate in audits and meetings. Work in a fast-paced environment with rotary and fixed-wing platforms.

Requirements

  • Relevant Engineering License: CASA Part 66 B2 with minimal restrictions
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a licensed engineer
  • Additional aircraft type ratings or experience across rotary or other fixed-wing platform (e.g., PC12 / Bell 212 & 412 / Airbus H135/H145)
  • Strong understanding of airworthiness regulations, maintenance procedures, and quality control processes
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative, fast-paced team environment
  • Strong planning, documentation, and coordination abilities
  • Ability to fulfil a touring roster pattern to support operational requirements

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft, ensuring compliance with CASA regulations, company policies, and manufacturer specifications
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and rectify aircraft faults, certify work performed, and ensure all aircraft meet airworthiness requirements before release
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation in accordance with regulatory and company standards
  • Assist in planning and coordinating maintenance schedules to optimise aircraft availability and operational efficiency
  • Conduct component replacements, system inspections, modifications, and upgrades as required
  • Lead and coordinate engineering projects focused on maintenance improvements, operational efficiencies, and regulatory compliance
  • Oversee special initiatives, including aircraft upgrades, equipment installations, and process improvement projects
  • Collaborate with pilots, operations, and engineering teams to support safe and efficient aircraft operations
