About this role

The Domestic Flight Planner handles overall planning and execution of flights without operational control. Responsibilities include safe, legal, and efficient filing of flight plans while ensuring compliance with aviation regulations, company policies, and operating procedures. This role supports seamless domestic operations for Flexjet.

Daily tasks involve filing legal flight plans domestically and facilitating coordination of all flights. Planners monitor weather and events impacting operations, manage airport slots, reservations, and PPRs. They provide trip briefings per SOP guidelines and assist with research on flight deviations.

Work occurs in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment requiring rapid decisions on safety, regulations, and operational economy. Strong communication skills enable exceptional service to internal and external customers. Coordination with external agents includes supplying aircraft documents for trip planning.

Compliance is key, with duties to understand regulations, ensure safety standards, and report non-compliance issues. The role demands aptitude for company software and willingness for weekends, holidays, and overtime. Opportunities arise to interpret weather trends and ATC flow for efficient planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination
  • Part 65 Aircraft Dispatch Certification preferred
  • Aviation knowledge required
  • Legal ability to work in the United States
  • Familiarity with flight planning, international operations, weather trends, and ATC flow
  • Strong communication skills with ability to self-motivate, handle multiple tasks, and manage time
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as required

Responsibilities

  • File legal flight plans domestically
  • Facilitate coordination of all flights operated by Flexjet
  • Ensure safe and legal coordination of scheduled flights
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers
  • Provide external agents with applicable aircraft documents for trip planning
  • Monitor weather and events impacting aircraft operations
  • Manage applications for airport slots, reservations, and PPRs
  • Make rapid decisions concerning safety, regulations, and economy of operations
