The Avionics Engineer develops avionics and electrical solutions for platform improvements, expansions, replacements, or new developments. Responsibilities include respecting civil certification standards like FAA, TCCA, EASA and military programs such as Canadian CH-146. This role ensures compliance across analysis, integration, and testing.

Daily tasks involve analyzing project requirements, supporting system integration with component selection and schematics, and writing test plans and reports. Coordinate with suppliers on displays, flight instruments, communication, navigation, sensors, and health monitoring systems. Review technical documentation and support lab and aircraft testing.

Join the avionics and systems engineering team based in Mirabel, Québec. English communication is required with Bell teams, suppliers, partners, and clients outside Québec. Contribute to pioneering aviation advancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or avionics engineering
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in aerospace or equivalent
  • Experience with integration on commercial and military aircraft is an asset
  • Proficiency in English for communication with teams, suppliers, partners, and clients outside Québec
  • Knowledge of civil certification standards (FAA, TCCA, EASA) and military programs (e.g., CH-146)
  • Familiarity with avionics systems including displays, flight instruments, communication, navigation, and health monitoring
  • Experience with requirements management tools and compliance matrices

Responsibilities

  • Analyze project, production, and certification requirements and develop technical solutions for aircraft avionics and electrical systems
  • Support integration of systems including component selection, interface compatibility, electrical schematics, and installation requirements
  • Write system test plans and procedures, analyze results, and prepare qualification reports for functional and certification testing
  • Update requirements in the technical requirements management tool for change requests
  • Prepare and update certification plans, qualification plans, and compliance matrices
  • Conduct analyses supporting certification of installed or modified systems including electrical loads, thermal, safety, and EMC
  • Support aircraft testing, systems integration lab (SIL) testing, and troubleshooting
  • Coordinate with avionics suppliers for development, integration, and testing of displays, instruments, communication, navigation, sensors, and systems management
