About this role

This part-time Dispatcher role receives assistance requests from clients and customers and assigns individuals and teams to respond. The position is based at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and offers a pay rate of $16.00 per hour with weekly pay.

Day-to-day activities include scheduling and dispatching Wheelchair Assistants to appropriate locations using radios, telephones, and computers. You will relay work orders, messages, and information between crews, supervisors, and field inspectors, while monitoring personnel and equipment locations to ensure efficient movement.

You will also advise personnel about potential hazards such as construction areas, weather conditions, and bottlenecks. The role requires strict adherence to safety and regulatory compliance procedures, and you will maintain logs, records, and reports to track service activity.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Customer Service Experience.
  • 1 Year of Clerical Experience.
  • One (1) year of prior multi-line reception experience or dispatching experience (preferred).
  • Prior experience scheduling and dispatching employees (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Receives assistance requests from clients and customers and assigns individuals and teams to respond.
  • Schedules and dispatches Wheelchair Assistants to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs using radios, telephones, and/or computers.
  • Relays work orders, messages, and information to or from crews/teams, supervisors, and field inspectors using telephones, two-way radios, and/or computers.
  • Advises personnel about problems such as construction areas, accidents, weather conditions, hazards, bottlenecks, and wait times.
  • Monitors personnel and/or equipment locations and utilization to coordinate service and schedules for optimal efficiency.
  • Oversees all communications within specifically assigned areas and maintains periodic contact with service personnel to ensure completion of duties.
  • Maintains files and records of customer requests, work performed, inventory, and other dispatch information; creates reports to monitor activity and operations.
  • Strictly adheres to all safety and regulatory compliance procedures and coordinates necessary repairs to restore service and schedules.
