Founded in 1920, Qantas is Australia’s largest airline operating regional, domestic, and international services with Qantas and Jetstar brands. Qantas Engineering in Los Angeles features a state-of-the-art facility opened in 2017 for critical scheduled maintenance on A380 and B787 fleet. The team conducts ‘A’ checks, engine changes, and daily line maintenance for flights connecting North America to Australia.
As a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (B1 or B2), you will perform maintenance, rectification, and modification on Qantas and client aircraft components per manufacturer and company specifications. You will supervise and manage aircraft maintenance staff in the North America Engineering hub. Tasks ensure the highest standards of safety and reliability.

Requirements
- CASA/EASA (or equivalent) B1 or B2 licence with a B787-9 and/or A380 type rating
- Proven leadership capabilities and demonstrated ability to effectively supervise, coach and motivate team members
- Extensive experience in either Line, Intermediate or Heavy Maintenance
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to effectively implement and manage change
- Ability to work unsupervised in a dynamic team environment
- Commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement principles
- Proven problem-solving skills, particularly when under pressure
- Sound communications skills, both written and verbal as well as highly developed attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, rectification, and modification on Qantas and client aircraft components as per manufacturer and company specifications
- Supervise and manage aircraft maintenance staff
- Conduct ‘A’ checks on wide-body aircraft
- Perform engine changes
- Carry out day-to-day line maintenance requirements
- Ensure conformance with practices and procedures covering aircraft maintenance
- Complete tasks in accordance with the procedures manual and aircraft manufacturers maintenance manual
