Executive Aviation is hiring Ground Handlers for our Halifax Below the Wing team at Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ). This role is ideal for someone who loves airplanes and thrives under tight deadlines.

As a Ground Handler, you will drive and operate ground service equipment, marshal and wing-walk aircraft to the gate, and sort, load, and offload guest baggage. You will also service aircraft water and lavatories, inspect ramp areas for debris, and groom aircraft by cleaning cabins, galleys, and restocking lavatory supplies.

You will report directly to an amazing Shift Lead who is there to support you. The role requires personal flexibility to work shift work including early mornings, days, late evenings, weekends, and holidays, and the willingness to work outside in all types of weather.

Requirements

Personal flexibility to work shift work which includes early mornings, days, late evenings, weekends, and holidays
Must be able to stand, lift, bend, crouch, kneel, and push and pull for extended periods of time
Physical ability to consistently lift up to 70 lbs (32 kg)
Must be willing to work outside in all types of weather
Must wear safety wear—steel toe boots (green patch), reflective vest, and hearing protection
Ability to meet all conditions of employment: Restricted Area pass issued by Transport Canada, a criminal background check, and hold a valid driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract

Responsibilities

Ensure airline procedures are followed in line with the rules and regulations of Transport Canada
Drive and operate ground service equipment
Marshall and wing-walk aircraft to gate
Sort, load, and offload guest baggage in accordance with load plan
Deliver guest baggage to claim area and unload onto conveyor system
Service aircraft water and lavatories
Inspect ramp areas for debris and remove or dispose of when found
Groom aircraft—clean whole cabin, galleys, lavatories, and restock lavatory with supplies
