Transportation Dispatcher
5w1 month agogategroup
US · Full-time · $58,240 – $58,240
About this role
This role serves as the primary administrative support for a major airline client's operations, ensuring that every flight departure is fully prepared and on schedule. As a Transportation Dispatcher, you will be the central link between the kitchen, the ramp, and the flight deck, coordinating the delivery of meals and supplies to aircraft.
Day-to-day, you will analyze data from custom computer screens to prepare driver run sheets for each flight, assign drivers to specific gates and flights, and monitor kitchen departure times. You will also serve as a quality assurance specialist, verifying that cooler and meal contents meet customer specifications, and track all flight, gate, and meal order changes in real time.
This position operates in a fast-paced warehouse and ramp environment at Newark Liberty International Airport, working closely with unit employees and directly with the client. You will periodically rotate between scheduled shifts and vacation relief shifts, and may be required to function in a warehouse environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
As a back-up supervisor when that individual is on the ramp, you will relay flight changes to drivers, direct workflow, and resolve customer problems. This role offers the opportunity to develop deep expertise in aviation logistics and build a strong rapport with a major airline client.
