About this role

Menzies Aviation is seeking a full-time diligent Ramp Agent to join our Team. The Ramp Agent plays an important role in ensuring that flights run on time by maintaining detailed records of shipped goods, moving baggage and cargo from aircraft, and guiding aircraft to and from their gates.

Daily tasks include comfortably and continuously lifting and moving up to 70 lbs. of cargo and baggage on and off aircraft, transporting it between terminals and cargo facilities. You will also frequently bend, stretch, push, pull, stack, and kneel in small, confined locations while operating motorized equipment.

You will need to read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, and cargo routing tags. Work is performed primarily outdoors in all weather conditions, with variable shifts including overtime, weekends, and holidays. Safety is paramount, and you will take reasonable care of your own and others' health and wellbeing.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma, GED, or six months of prior ramp agent experience
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment testing, including a drug test
  • Capable of safely lifting up to 70 lbs. continuously
  • Must be able to proficiently speak, read, and write in English
  • Must have a current driver’s license with no violations over the past 5 years
  • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including overtime, weekends, and holidays
  • Work is done primarily outdoors; must be comfortable working in all weather conditions
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all required Airport and Customs badges/seals

Responsibilities

  • Comfortably and continuously lift and move 70 lbs. of cargo and baggage on and off aircraft
  • Transport cargo and baggage between aircraft, airport terminals, and air cargo facilities
  • Frequently bend, stretch, push, pull, stack, and kneel in small, confined locations
  • Operate motorized equipment
  • Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage and cargo routing tags
  • Guide aircraft to and from their gates
  • Perform other duties as assigned
