Operating out of air traffic control towers, Airport/Aerodrome Controllers provide pilots clearances and instructions to maintain separation from other aircraft during takeoff and landing. They maintain a safe and orderly flow of air traffic within a defined airspace surrounding the airport, referred to as a “control zone”, as well as on the ground on runways and taxiways.

We are seeking one experienced Airport/Aerodrome Air Traffic Controller for the Toronto City Centre Tower at Billy Bishop City Centre Airport. Manage commercial traffic, private jets, and emergency services from a downtown location. Develop specialized skills that set you apart in urban aviation at its finest.

Requirements

  • Experience as an Airport/Aerodrome Air Traffic Controller
  • Proficiency in English language requirements
  • Knowledge of control zone operations and aircraft separation
  • Familiarity with tower-based air traffic control procedures
  • Ability to manage diverse traffic types including commercial and private
  • Onsite work availability in a high-operational environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide pilots clearances and instructions to maintain separation from other aircraft during takeoff and landing
  • Maintain a safe and orderly flow of air traffic within the control zone surrounding the airport
  • Manage air traffic on runways and taxiways
  • Monitor aircraft movements in the airport airspace
  • Coordinate ground movements for aircraft and vehicles
  • Handle commercial traffic, private jets, and emergency services
  • Ensure visual separation standards in tower operations
