We are recruiting First Officers to join our Wide Body fleet, welcoming applications from pilots across Airbus and Boeing who meet the criteria. As a First Officer, you support the Captain in ensuring safe, secure, and efficient flight operations. You demonstrate professionalism, technical skill, and teamwork while developing leadership for future command.

You assist in flight preparation, navigation, and operation, complying with Etihad’s procedures and standards. Maintain continuous checks of aircraft position, terrain, and weather for safe navigation.

Provide clear communication and advice to the Captain for efficient decision-making. Uphold high standards of discipline, conduct, and appearance, representing Etihad professionally. In Captain incapacitation, assume command per procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2,500 hours total flying time and 1,500 hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit MPA (Criteria A), or minimum 3,000 hours total and 2,000 hours on Airbus Wide Body FBW or Boeing Wide body (Criteria B)
  • Minimum 1,000 hours on any Airbus Wide Body FBW or Boeing Wide body aircraft (Criteria A)
  • Flown any Airbus Wide Body FBW or Boeing Wide body aircraft within the last 12 months
  • Type rating on any Airbus Wide Body FBW or Boeing Wide body aircraft valid for at least 2 more months at the time of joining
  • Unrestricted ATPL or valid frozen ATPL issued by an ICAO member state
  • Unrestricted, current Class 1 medical
  • Must not have attained the age of 50 on the day of joining
  • English language fluency (written and verbal) – ICAO Level 4 or better

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Captain in all aspects of flight preparation, navigation, and operation, ensuring compliance with Etihad’s operating procedures and regulatory standards
  • Maintain a continuous and independent check of aircraft position, terrain, and weather to support safe navigation at all times
  • Provide clear communication, advice, and support to the Captain to contribute to safe and efficient decision-making
  • Uphold high standards of discipline, conduct, and personal appearance, representing Etihad professionally in every environment
  • Assume command in the event of Captain incapacitation in accordance with rank and company procedures
