The Aircraft Dispatcher plans flight routes and shares legal responsibility with the pilot in command.
The Aircraft Dispatcher plans the route of flight taking into account aircraft performance and loading, enroute winds, thunderstorm and turbulence forecasts, airspace restrictions, and airport conditions. They monitor the flight's progress from departure to arrival and advise pilots if conditions change. This role requires exercising complete operational control over assigned flights.
Work in a fast paced, dynamic environment requiring the ability to multitask workload. Be available for rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends, handling Aircraft Dispatcher requests with a sense of urgency. Lift supplies up to 25 lbs., work indoors, and wear business casual attire.

Requirements
- Must possess an FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate
- Authorized by UPS to exercise full operational control over any flight
- Basic air carrier operations knowledge from a Part 135, 119, or 121 Domestic, Flag, or Supplemental operations
- Minimum of 4 years domestic flight dispatch experience or minimum of two years international flight dispatch experience
- Exhibit leadership skills, be self-directed, show initiative
- Make decisions independently with good organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Handle stress well as a team player
Responsibilities
- Plan the route of flight taking into account aircraft performance and loading, enroute winds, thunderstorm and turbulence forecasts, airspace restrictions, and airport conditions
- Monitor the flights progress from departure to arrival and advise pilots if conditions change
- Possess an FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate and exercise full operational control over any flight
- Remain on duty during the planning and operation of all flights and exercise complete operational control authority over assigned flights
- Assume responsibility for the preflight planning, issuance of dispatch releases, and monitor flight progress
- Provide the latest available flight information ensuring the safest and most economical flight operations
- Assume joint responsibility with each Captain for flight safety as specified in FAA regulations and FOM Vol 02
- Assume responsibility for company compliance of all FAA regulations and policies insofar as they apply to flight dispatch
