About this role

The First Officer assists the Commander in the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining high professional standards in flight preparation, in-flight duties, and post-flight activities. The role demands strong situational awareness, technical proficiency, and teamwork to support operational excellence.

Participate in the Commander’s crew briefing, aware of aeronautical, meteorological, and technical information plus anticipated aircraft load. Perform duties as Pilot Flying or Pilot Monitoring as directed, assisting in managing flight deck operations through task distribution, cooperation, and monitoring of flight progress, systems, airspace, and crew performance.

Friendly, mature, humble, honest, meticulous, self-starter, able to perform under pressure. Proficient in oral and written English, maintain confidentiality, exercise tact. Proficient in modern cockpit operations including EFIS/FMS systems, strong understanding of aviation regulations, flight planning, and operational documentation.

Requirements

  • Holds a CAAP CPL/IR or MPL
  • Holds a valid CAAP Class 1 medical certificate
  • Holds a College Degree or equivalent
  • English Language Proficiency at Level 4 or above
  • Minimum 200 hours fixed wing experience or equivalent credited hours (rotary wing time, crop dusting time 50% credited; experimental category aircraft time 0% credited; second officer/third crew time 50% credit)
  • Proficient in modern cockpit operations, including EFIS/FMS systems
  • Strong understanding of aviation regulations, flight planning, and operational documentation
  • Skilled in flight management systems, navigation, and aircraft performance monitoring

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the Commander’s crew briefing and be aware of all relevant aeronautical, meteorological, and technical information, as well as anticipated aircraft load
  • Ensure that all personal licenses, medical certification, passport, visas, and logbook are valid and up to date at all times
  • Conduct cross-checks to ensure the validity of required documents of all operating technical crew members
  • Perform duties as Pilot Flying (PF) or Pilot Monitoring (PM) as directed by the Commander during flight
  • Assist the Commander in managing flight deck operations through effective task distribution, systematic cooperation, information sharing, monitoring of flight progress, aircraft systems, airspace, and crew performance
  • Complete and manage all necessary operational documents including Operational Flight Plan, occurrence reports, Voyage Report
  • Upon flight completion, assist the Commander in finalizing aircraft documentation, ensuring the flight deck is clean and ready for the next crew, handing over to incoming crew or authorized personnel, and securing the aircraft if required
