About this role

HK Express is Hong Kong’s first and only low-cost carrier, offering great value and affordable fares on one of the youngest and most modern aircraft fleets. As Flight Dispatch Officer, you will assist the SMOC&FD to ensure delivery of high standard centralised flight planning services.

You will create operational flight plans in accordance with regulations and HKEA policies, and provide necessary assistance to the Commander. Ensure flight planning and crew briefing duties are delivered effectively, and liaise with relevant authorities for flight plan submission.

Work closely with Operations Control, MCC, AOS, and Crew Control to implement cost-effective solutions to day-of-operation problems. Requirements

  • Secondary education or equivalent.
  • Met the English language proficiency requirements of the company.
  • Hold or be able to obtain a valid Flight Dispatcher License.
  • Knowledge of civil aviation regulations and operational procedures.
  • Ability to interpret weather information and NOTAM advisories for flight planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions affecting operational security and safety risk tolerability.

Responsibilities

  • Create operational flight plans in accordance with applicable regulations and HKEA policies, standards and procedures.
  • Provide necessary assistance and support to the Commander in the safe conduct of each flight.
  • Ensure flight planning and crew briefing duties are delivered in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Work closely with Operations Control, MCC, AOS, and Crew Control to implement cost-effective solutions to day-of-operation problems.
  • Ensure relevant aircraft performance limitations, airport and ATC restrictions, RAIM prediction, weather and NOTAM advisories are considered for pre-flight preparation.
  • Liaise with relevant authorities and Air Traffic Services Units/Centers for flight plan submission and filing.
  • Monitor emails, ACARS downlinks, telexes and all FOCC communication mediums and advise DMFOCC of issues that may affect flight planning.
