Air Traffic Controller - Area / Tower

At NAV CANADA, experts navigate Canada’s skies across 18 million square kilometers of Canadian and North Atlantic airspace. Air Traffic Controllers coordinate the safe, efficient and orderly flow of air traffic in 7 flight information regions. This posting covers positions in the Winnipeg FIR covering Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario.

Area Controllers work from the Winnipeg ACC coordinating IFR traffic across large sections of airspace. Tower Controllers operate from one of five towers in the FIR at Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg, St. Andrews and Thunder Bay issuing instructions to VFR aircraft. Both roles manage real-time traffic without prior specialized experience required.

Training is fully paid with salary provided throughout. Area Controller training spans initial classroom and simulator phases plus specialty and on-the-job training lasting 20 to 27 months. Tower Controller training includes initial classroom and simulator instruction followed by on-the-job training at an assigned tower.
