About this role

This role is for an experienced Architect specializing in Air Traffic Control (ATC) systems. You will lead the design and implementation of scalable software solutions using Python and industry-standard architectural patterns. The position requires deep expertise in cloud platforms and containerization.

Day-to-day responsibilities include developing RESTful APIs, integrating with relational and NoSQL databases, and deploying containerized applications to cloud environments. You will manage CI/CD pipelines and collaborate on testing strategies to ensure high-quality deliverables while mentoring junior engineers.

As part of a dynamic engineering team, you will contribute to architectural decisions and mentor peers in best practices. This role offers exposure to cutting-edge technologies like Kubernetes and FastAPI within the aviation domain. You will also collaborate with stakeholders to define system requirements.

This position provides an opportunity to shape critical ATC infrastructure and drive innovation in aviation technology. You will have the autonomy to influence technical direction and grow your expertise in a specialized industry, with potential to advance into leadership roles.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in Python software development.
  • Profound knowledge of Python ecosystems and popular frameworks (Django, Flask, FastAPI).
  • Strong understanding of software design principles, architectural patterns (e.g., Microservices, MVC), and object-oriented programming.
  • Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Extensive experience in designing and building RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and associated services.
  • Experience with Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).

Responsibilities

  • Design and build RESTful APIs using Python frameworks (Django, Flask, FastAPI).
  • Integrate with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) databases.
  • Deploy containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
  • Apply software design principles and architectural patterns (Microservices, MVC) to ATC systems.
  • Implement unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies.
  • Leverage cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for scalable infrastructure.
