We seek an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer for our Aerospace Research Centre who shares core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity. The incumbent will perform and ensure proper completion of applicable maintenance activities related to aircraft. This includes the installation, inspection, maintenance and repair of aircraft systems (mechanical, electrical, and others). Troubleshoot and rectify defects using standard or specialized test equipment while ensuring aircraft documentation is complete and accurate.

Carry out duties as per the appropriate maintenance control manual and ensure conformity to Transport Canada regulatory standards. Assist the Aircraft Crew Chief in preparing aircraft for research flight operations and adhere to the Safety Management System Policy. Provide training/guidance and oversight of apprentices, and accompany aircraft on field deployments as required.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a program of study at an accredited college meeting Transport Canada requirements for Aircraft Maintenance Engineer training in the mechanical specialty
  • Hold an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) “M” licence issued by Transport Canada
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical aircraft systems
  • Familiarity with Transport Canada regulatory standards and CARs
  • Proficiency in using standard and specialized test equipment for troubleshooting
  • Ability to maintain accurate aircraft documentation and records
  • Detail-oriented approach to inspections and repairs
  • Organizational skills for multidisciplinary team environments
