About this role

Boeing Brazil is seeking a Mid-Career Integrated Modular Avionics Engineer reporting to the Integrated Modular Avionics Engineering Manager in São José dos Campos. The engineer will join the Global Integrated Modular Avionics team to support development and certification of transport category airplanes. This includes participation in complex electronic systems development, analyzing requirements, and demonstrating compliance with regulatory and customer standards.

Responsibilities encompass translation of concepts and high-level requirements into specific architectures and operational specifications. The role involves integration of avionics systems and components into complex airplanes. Verification occurs at component, system, and airplane levels throughout the lifecycle.

Work with a worldwide team to implement system hardware and software. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements. Oversee supplier engineering performance for system integration and compliance.

Engage with aircraft systems from initial concept through certification, delivery, and in-service support. Solve problems and provide support for fielded hardware and software over the product lifecycle. Research technology advances for potential application to company business needs and make recommendations.

Requirements

  • Must have existing rights to work in Brazil
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer engineering or Aerospace/Aeronautical engineering
  • Proficient in both verbal and written communications skills in the English Language
  • Must be registered or eligible to register with the engineering and agronomy and regional council (CREA)
  • Experience with commercial airplane certification, audits and design review activities
  • Experience as a system engineer throughout the systems development process, including requirements capture, design, decomposition, integration, verification, and validation
  • Experience with Integrated Modular Avionics and related standards like DO-297 and ARP 4754, ARP 4761

Responsibilities

  • Works with internal and external stakeholders to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements
  • Analyzes and translates requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications
  • Works to test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
  • Oversees supplier engineering performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
  • Solves problems and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle
  • Researches technology advances for potential application to company business needs and makes recommendations for potential technology investments
