
About this role
The MRO Engineer functions as a key engineering focal, providing technical advice on workscope management, repair dispositions, engineering repair quotes, and support to Operations, Quality, and Customers for airworthiness and requirements. This role supports nacelle components repair assessment on metallic and composite structures. It ensures compliance with customer and regulatory standards in aviation MRO operations.
Daily tasks include communicating with OEM on technical issues and component repair assessments. Prepare repair packages with detailed repair drawings, stress analysis, and submissions for airworthiness approvals. Perform basic design activities for tooling aids and assembly jig fixtures, coordinating with vendors for fabrication and calibration.
Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams, supporting Quality reviews and investigations to enhance engineering and operational processes. Develop and conduct Engineering, Component, and Product training for the Operations Team. Drive identification and support for engineering and shop cost reduction opportunities.
Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying new digitalization and I4.0 opportunities for technology introduction and automation in MRO operations. Design simple RPA with user guides to implement process automation applications. Support new repair capability development, system setup, and airworthiness applications.
Requirements
- Degree / Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
- Engineering trained, self-motivated, fast learner
- Excellent computer skills – O365, Microsoft Visio, MathCad
- Nastran and Patran, CATIA V5 is added advantage
- Python or other programming language and software development is added advantage
- Equipment troubleshooting skills such as debug or troubleshoot an existing system
- SMART Factory, Industry 4.0 experience & knowledge will be considered as added merits
- Interest in digital database, data analytics, Robot / Cobot application and integration
