About this role

Earn while you learn in a structured four-year hands-on training program leading to a nationally recognised Certificate IV in Aeroskills as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. Work 38 hours a week from 7am to 3pm Monday to Friday in Cairns or Darwin. No experience needed – if you're technically minded and enjoy problem solving, we'll teach you.

Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain and repair electronic and/or mechanical aspects of aircraft. Carry out maintenance tasks in accordance with maintenance manuals and specified procedures. Hold safety as a core value while contributing to a zero harm and incident-free environment.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical or electrical understanding and skills
  • Ability and motivation to attend and pass training for Certificate IV in Aeroskills
  • Completed minimum of Year 10 or equivalent
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Eligible to hold an ASIC card
  • Australian Citizen

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain and repair electronic and/or mechanical aspects of aircraft
  • Hold safety as a core value and contribute to a zero harm and incident/injury free environment
  • Carry out maintenance tasks in accordance with maintenance manuals and specified procedures
  • Maintain personal tool control and accountability of tools and equipment
  • Upkeep the hangar, workshop and any related work vehicles
