About this role
As a Ramp Agent with Menzies Aviation, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling of cargo and baggage on and off aircraft. This part-time role requires heavy lifting up to 70 lbs. and working in varying weather conditions at Fort Lauderdale's airport.
Your daily tasks include lifting and moving cargo and baggage between aircraft, terminals, and cargo facilities. You will operate motorized equipment such as tugs and belt loaders, and interpret weight and balance instructions, hazardous material labels, and routing tags.
Work is performed primarily outdoors on the ramp, requiring adaptability to changing tasks and weather conditions. Strong attention to detail and safety awareness are essential as you work in confined spaces and around moving aircraft.

Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma, GED, or six months prior ramp agent work experience
- Must be able to pass all pre-employment testing, including a drug test
- Capable of safely lifting up to 70 lbs. continuously
- Must be able to proficiently speak, read, and write in English
- Must have a current driver's license with no violations over the past 5 years
- Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including overtime, weekends, and holidays
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and able to obtain and maintain all required airport and customs badges/seals
Responsibilities
- Comfortably and continuously lift and move up to 70 lbs. of cargo and baggage on and off aircraft
- Transport cargo and baggage between aircraft, airport terminals, and air cargo facilities
- Operate motorized equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and baggage carts
- Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material labels, loading manifests, and routing tags
- Perform frequent bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, stacking, and kneeling in small, confined locations
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and adapt to changing tasks
- Maintain strong attention to detail and safety awareness during all operations
- Perform other duties as assigned
