KBR's Ascension Island Base Operations and Support Program ensures seamless execution of critical mission support activities on this remote South Atlantic Ocean location. It provides comprehensive logistics, facilities management, and airfield operations for global communications, defense readiness, and aerospace operations. The program relies on a multidisciplinary team for operational excellence and industry compliance.
We seek a highly skilled FAA-certified Air Traffic Controller to manage safe and efficient aircraft movement in and around the airport and designated airspace. This role demands adherence to FAA and AFMAN 13-204 regulations while organizing flight plans and communicating with pilots and ground personnel. Prompt response to emergency situations is essential.
Daily duties include regulating air traffic, monitoring radar systems, and coordinating with emergency services. The controller will authorize commercial and private flights, manage handoffs between control centers, and maintain radio equipment and airport lighting. Situational awareness comes from radar data, pilot reports, and other sources.

Requirements
- FAA certification as an Air Traffic Controller
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in air traffic control operations
- Controlled Movement Area (CMA) driver’s certificate
- Familiarity with AFMAN 13-204 Volumes 1 and 3 regulations
- Valid air traffic controller license
Responsibilities
- Control air traffic within the vicinity of the airport and designated altitude sectors to ensure safe operations
- Authorize and regulate commercial and private airline flights in compliance with FAA and company regulations
- Coordinate and manage flight plans, traffic management strategies, and handoffs between control centers
- Provide real-time flight path adjustments or emergency landing directions during adverse weather or emergencies
- Monitor and interpret data from radar systems, pilot reports, and other sources to ensure accurate situational awareness
- Alert and coordinate with airport emergency services in the event of emergencies or aircraft issues
- Inspect, maintain, and operate radio communication equipment and airport lighting systems
- Maintain detailed records of flight operations, incidents, and communication logs as required by federal law
