The Second in Command performs specific responsibilities relating to operating assigned aircraft such as A321 or A330. Assist in flight planning and other preparations for flight, carry out duties assigned by the Captain, and execute tasks per Standard Operating Procedures. This role supports safe and efficient flight operations.

Requirements

  • Hold an updated certified logbook
  • Hold a valid Transport Canada ATPL or Commercial Pilot License with IATRA or SAMRA/SARON exams written
  • Thorough knowledge of Canadian aviation regulations (CARs)
  • Hold a medical certificate of category class 1
  • Hold Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident status
  • No restrictions to travel in the United States or other countries served by Air Transat
  • Aviation college diploma (asset)

Responsibilities

  • Perform specific responsibilities relating to operating assigned aircraft (A321 or A330)
  • Assist in flight planning and other preparations for flight
  • Carry out duties assigned by the Captain
  • Execute other tasks as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Monitor aircraft systems and instruments during flight
  • Manage radio communications with air traffic control
  • Assist with pre-flight inspections and checklists
