About this role
AAR’s Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) program, headquartered in Rockledge, FL, provides global expeditionary aviation solutions to the US Department of State Air Wing. The Flight Dispatcher supports planning, coordination, and monitoring of domestic and limited international flight operations for DoS, DS, and INLA. This role operates from the Global Mission Center under supervision.
Assists in flight package development, including data entry for eAPIS and GENDEC, plus basic weather and NOTAM review. Maintains operational awareness, ensures documentation accuracy, and supports communication between flight crews and operations personnel. Coordinates with vendors and internal teams to facilitate mission requirements.
Serves as point of contact for flight crews, providing operational updates throughout mission execution. Works with handlers, FBOs, vendors, and teams for ground handling, fuel, catering, and accommodations. Contributes to safe, compliant execution within the GMC environment.
Adheres to established procedures and senior staff guidance while developing proficiency in international operations. Supports irregular operations including delays, schedule changes, and mission adjustments. Ensures alignment with ICAO, FAA, FCG, and host nation requirements.
Requirements
- Knowledge of ICAO, IATA, FAA, FCG regulations and host nation requirements
- Familiarity with eAPIS and GENDEC data entry processes
- Ability to review NOTAMs, weather, alternates, and routing for basic analysis
- Understanding of APACS submissions, diplomatic clearances, and overflight permits
- Proficiency in verifying flight documentation, crew data, and international paperwork
- Experience coordinating with flight crews, handlers, FBOs, and vendors
- Awareness of irregular operations procedures for delays and mission changes
Responsibilities
- Prepare and support development of international flight plans in accordance with ICAO, IATA, FAA, FCG, and host nation requirements
- Assist in execution of operational control functions in accordance with WASS policies and procedures
- Conduct basic route analysis including review of NOTAMs, weather, alternates, and routing considerations
- Monitor flights and provide flight support to ensure safe and efficient mission execution
- Support coordination of international overflight and landing permits, diplomatic clearances, APACS submissions, and GENDEC documentation
- Ensure APACS requests and supporting documentation align with FCG guidance and country specific requirements
- Serve as point of contact for flight crews providing operational updates and support
- Coordinate with handlers, FBOs, vendors, and internal teams to support mission requirements
