As First Officer (Dash 8-300) - Aerial Firefighting, you report to the Director of Flight Operations and play an essential role in safe, efficient Dash 8-300 fleet operations for wildfire protection.

This rotational position involves 8 weeks in the field at international bases and 8 weeks off, conducting aerial operations to support wildfire suppression domestically and internationally. You safely operate as Second-in-Command, providing support to the Pilot-in-Command while maintaining high accuracy and situational awareness in demanding environments with rugged terrain or changing conditions. Ensure operational control parameters, on-time performance, and flight objectives are met throughout missions.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid CPL or ATPL
  • Meet the minimum 750 total time requirement
  • Meet the minimum 150 hours PIC time requirement
  • Maintain qualifications required to crew Dash 8 aircraft
  • Ability to safely operate in demanding aerial firefighting environments

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company aircraft as the Second-in-Command and provide support to the Pilot-in-Command
  • Conduct aerial operations in support of wildfire suppression efforts across domestic and international locations
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and situational awareness while flying in demanding environments such as rugged terrain or rapidly changing conditions
  • Ensure parameters for operational control are maintained throughout flights
  • Maintain on-time performance and accomplish flight objectives
  • Liaise with the Pilot-in-Command, Voyageur’s Dispatch department, ATC, FSS, and customers
  • Actively participate in safety briefings and utilize Voyageur’s Safety and Risk Management system
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, air regulations, and standard operating procedures
