Shape the future of aviation engineering with Babcock. As a Licensed Aircraft Engineer, you’ll be part of the Aviation business supporting safe and efficient Base Maintenance delivery across a varied fleet. You’ll ensure aircraft remain fully mission-ready for customers across the UK.

Day-to-day, carry out aircraft inspections, system checks and rectification work for scheduled and emergent Base Maintenance. Request and coordinate spare parts, tooling and materials for maintenance activities. Work closely with Supervisors, Certifying Staff and Maintenance Coordinator to meet standards.

Provide clear technical updates to stakeholders across the operation. Support aircraft availability at Staverton and occasionally other sites. The role is full time, 40 hours per week, onsite at Gloucestershire Airport (Staverton).

Grow your technical expertise in rotary aircraft systems while contributing to critical aviation services. Note: successful candidate must pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or examination. Achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of aircraft maintenance standards
  • Background in Base and/or Line Maintenance with solid technical understanding of rotary aircraft airframe and engine systems
  • Experience within UK aviation operations; rotary wing, HEMS or Police aviation experience advantageous
  • Good understanding of CAA regulations, including SMS and Human Factors
  • Confident communicator able to work effectively with people at all levels
  • European Union Aviation Safety Agency Part 66 B1.3 Aircraft Maintenance Licence, ideally including type ratings for EC135 and BK117/H145 aircraft
  • Category C Aircraft Maintenance Licence (desirable)
  • Category B2 Aircraft Maintenance Licence (desirable but not essential)
