About this role
MT Aerospace, part of the OHB Space and Technology Group, is a leading international aerospace company that develops, manufactures, and tests essential components for launcher programs such as Ariane and the U.S. Space Launch System (SLS). As an Aircraft Engineer / Industrial Mechanic, you will help the European launcher Ariane and other international launchers take off.
Your day-to-day work involves joining, fitting, and installing aerospace structural components, including functional testing and quality controls. You will drill, ream, rivet, assemble, join, grind, and bond various components, working from technical drawings to create fit holes and assemble complex metal structural parts.
You will join a team of around 600 professionals at the headquarters in Augsburg, with globally unique manufacturing technologies in metal and fiber composites. Requirements
- Completed vocational training as an aircraft mechanic, metalworker, or comparable discipline
- Professional experience in manufacturing/production and mechanics is desirable
- Knowledge and experience in aircraft structural assembly
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Assertiveness and communication skills, with ability to integrate into a team
- Reliability and a quality-conscious approach to work
Responsibilities
- Joining, fitting and installing aerospace structural components, including functional testing
- Drilling, reaming, riveting, assembling and joining, grinding and bonding various components
- Creating fit holes
- Assembling complex structural components in metal
- Working to drawings and technical blueprints
- Carrying out quality controls to ensure precision and safety
