In this role, you will be responsible for developing avionics and electrical system solutions for new developments or improvements to existing platforms. You will analyze project, production, and certification requirements, develop technical solutions, and support system integration including component selection, interface compatibility, and electrical schematic drafting.
You will write system test plans and procedures, analyze results, and draft qualification reports for functional and certification testing at both component and aircraft levels. You will also update requirements in the technical requirements management tool, draft certification plans and compliance matrices, and perform analyses supporting certification of installed or modified systems.
This position requires coordination with avionics system suppliers in the development, integration, and testing of displays, flight instruments, communication and navigation systems, sensors, and vision systems. You will support aircraft testing, system integration lab (SIL) testing, troubleshooting, and first article installations (FAI), while reviewing supplier technical documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Baccalauréat en génie).
- Experience in avionics and electrical system development for aircraft.
- Knowledge of civil certification standards (FAA, TCCA, EASA) and military certification standards (e.g., Canadian government programs - CH-146).
- Ability to draft certification plans, qualification plans, and compliance matrices.
- Experience with system integration, component selection, and interface compatibility.
- Proficiency in writing test plans, procedures, and qualification reports.
- Ability to communicate in English with Bell teams outside Quebec and with suppliers, partners, and clients outside Quebec.
- Experience supporting aircraft testing, SIL testing, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Analyze project, production, and certification requirements and develop technical solutions related to aircraft avionics and electrical systems.
- Support system integration including component selection, interface compatibility, and electrical schematic drafting, and identify system installation requirements.
- Write system test plans and procedures, analyze results, and draft qualification reports for functional and certification testing at component and aircraft levels.
- Update requirements in the technical requirements management tool in response to change requests.
- Draft and update certification plans, qualification plans, and compliance matrices.
- Perform analyses in support of certification of installed or modified systems (electrical loads, thermal, safety analysis support, EMC, etc.).
- Support aircraft testing, system integration lab (SIL) testing, troubleshooting, and first article installations (FAI).
- Coordinate with avionics system suppliers in the development, integration, and testing of displays, flight instruments, communication and navigation systems, sensors, vision systems, health management, and system management.
