About this role

Planned Systems International seeks an AFSOC Mission Rehearsal Training Aircrew Controller to join the team at Hurlburt Field. The role involves training individuals, often in field environments, in all individual, common, and implied tasks. Provides input to after action reports and hot washes while ensuring execution meets training plan standards.

Controls aircraft range entry/exit and manages LZ/DZ operations daily. Oversees safe execution of AFSOC aircraft with recommendations to government officials. Tracks suspense systems, screens correspondence, and disseminates directives properly.

Supports aircrew training, ground training, and continuation sorties by emulating friendly and opposing forces. Directs personnel to mimic enemy tactics, techniques, and procedures. Works within military command and control structures interfacing with federal, state, and local agencies.

Adapts readily to government-provided equipment reconfigurations, upgrades, and modernizations. Employs new techniques and technologies to align procedures with mission requirements. Maintains high knowledge of SOF aircrew procedures including tactics, training, and life support.

Requirements

  • Active T3 investigation with ability to obtain and maintain security clearances for classified information
  • Extensive background as SOF aircrew or Battlefield Airman with knowledge of SOF aircrew procedures, tactics, techniques, and procedures
  • Proficient at role-playing Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) and Ground Force Commander (GFC) including scheme of maneuver and radio communications
  • Qualified to simulate directing military aircraft for close air support and offensive air operations from forward positions
  • Complete AFSOC LZSO/DZSO training, local area orientation, and certification by Wing authority within 30 days
  • Conduct LZ/DZ usability assessments, scoring, and surveys per DAFMAN 13-217
  • Conduct and report weather observations per FAA JO 7110.65, Chapter 2, Sections 6 and 7
  • Marshal aircraft per AFMAN 11-218 and proficient with applicable enemy TTPs
