At NAV CANADA, we are experts in navigating Canada’s skies, helping pilots safely cross 18 million square kilometres of Canadian and North Atlantic airspace. Operating out of air traffic control towers, Airport/Aerodrome Air Traffic Controllers provide pilots clearances and instructions to maintain separation from other aircraft during takeoff and landing. Their job is to maintain a safe and orderly flow of air traffic.
Controllers manage air traffic within a defined airspace surrounding the airport, referred to as a “control zone”, as well as on the ground on runways and taxiways. In Winnipeg Tower, expertise grows across diverse operational scenarios from international cargo to training operations. This full-time permanent role connects to Canada's aviation heartland.

Requirements
- Experienced in airport/aerodrome air traffic control
- English language proficiency required
- Ability to pass rigorous and highly competitive recruitment and training processes
- Knowledge of control zone procedures and separation standards
- Proficiency in radio communications with pilots
- Familiarity with tower operations including ground and visual control
- Medical fitness suitable for air traffic control duties
Responsibilities
- Provide pilots clearances and instructions to maintain separation from other aircraft during takeoff and landing
- Maintain a safe and orderly flow of air traffic within the control zone surrounding the airport
- Manage ground movements on runways and taxiways
- Monitor aircraft positions using radar and visual observation
- Issue taxi instructions and runway clearances to aircraft
- Coordinate with adjacent airspace sectors for safe handoffs
- Handle diverse operations including international cargo and training flights
Benefits
- Base salary $122,613 - $177,240 plus shift and weekend premiums
