Ramp Agent - Part-Time

Ramp Agents at Southwest work outside to guide planes, move bags and cargo, and help with de-icing planes during cold weather. This hands-on role keeps the operation running smoothly at the heart of every successful departure. The position supports flights leaving on time through coordinated efforts.

Agents perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions while following strict safety protocols. They marshal aircraft, load and unload baggage and cargo, and operate ground support equipment. Schedules are determined through a seniority-based bidding process.

Part-time employees generally work 32 hours over 5 days. New hires complete 4-6 weeks of training consisting of classroom and on-the-job instruction. The role requires consistent attendance and the ability to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
